For the Sake of a Friend:

My very first story. When I wrote this I'd only seen 7 episodes of the show... and I was a very new writer.

To save a friend, one of the Seven is prepared to give the ultimate sacrifice.

Sometimes a Man Doesn't Have a Choice:
April 2000, Aussie Lass.

Gunfighters live and die by their reputation.   Weak from three days with fever, Chris is challenged to a gunfight by a gunslinger from his past. The 'code' dictates that he must accept the challenge, despite the fact that he can barely remain vertical. Will Vin and the boys stand by and watch their friend gunned down in cold blood? Not bloody likely!

The Conversation:

A little bit of nothing.   What I like to call my 'Seinfeld' peice. Vin and Chris have a conversation in a way only they can.

Happy Birthday, Cowboy!:
April 2000, Aussie Lass.

A story of mischief.   It's Chris' birthday and Mary wants to throw him a surprise party, so she enlists the help of Ezra. But just how will the gambler convince Vin, to convince Chris, to come to the party?

HELL OF A SHOT 1: Thaumaturgical
April 2000, Aussie Lass.

A story of triumph.   The Judge is kidnapped when the boys are out of town. Despite their fatigue from so many days on the trail, they set off after his kidnappers the moment they return. When all looks lost, it takes a 'hell of a shot' to save the day.

HELL OF A SHOT 2: The Replacement
May 2000, Aussie Lass.

A story of determination.   Buck, Ezra, Chris, Josiah and Nathan are in trouble. Vin can't do what is needed...so that leaves J.D. to make the most important shot of his life. This story is posted in three small parts. Just follow the directions.

HELL OF A SHOT 3: To Honour Another Man's Promise
April 2001, Aussie Lass.

  A story of sacrifice.     One of the Seven is snatched by a merciless man seeking revenge. Can the boys possibly reach their companion in time to save his life... or at the very least, in time for Chris to honour a sacred pledge.

HELL OF A SHOT 4: Ten Minutes
May 2002, Aussie Lass.

  A story of loyalty.     On their trip home from Purgatory, the Seven seek shelter in a cave... but they are being watched and it isn't long before they find themselves under attack!

HELL OF A SHOT 5: You Won't Die Alone
June 2003, Aussie Lass.

  A story about one man's sincere promise and another two men's remarkable bond.     Vin and Ezra find themselves forced to camp under the stars. With Vin unable to set camp, Ezra finds himself collecting firewood and chasing fowls... and things go down hill from there...

HELL OF A SHOT 6: One Way... or the Other.
April 2004, Aussie Lass.

  A story of selflessness.   Outnumbered and outgunned... and unsure if the rest of the boys have received their cry for help... Vin and Chris find themselves backed into a corner and relying on one another to try and survive - but will they be able to hold out for long enough?

Doc, There's Somethin' Ailing Me:
June 2000, Aussie Lass.

A story of belonging.   Thugs from Nathan's past ride into Four Corners and threaten the dark skinned hearler. It's nine to one...or is it?

Two Bullets. Two Days:
May 2000, Aussie Lass.

A story of understanding.   Something is causing the Seven's usually easy going tracker to wander around aggressively snapping at anyone who has the audacity to speak to him. Chris sets out to find what what is troubling his friend.

One of Us:
June 2000, Aussie Lass.

The Seven's youngest member takes steps toward manhood...with a little help from his friends.   Three old 'friends' of J.D.'s come to town. As a result, Ezra gets drunk, Buck and Josiah compete in a crazy riding competition and Vin teaches the others a thing or two about horses. This story is posted in two small parts. Just follow the directions.

Because the Sky Ain't Purple:
June 2000, Aussie Lass.

An argument; A rainstorm; A friendship without equal.   Chris and Vin have a very public argument that sees them facing off in the middle of the street in front of a growing audience. The rest of the Seven watch helplessly as their leader and tracker look set to blow the Seven apart.

A spiritual bond that transends human understanding.   Three shots and Chris' worst nightmare comes true! This story is posted in two small parts. Just follow the directions.

It pays to have good friends.   Ezra finds himself in an uncomfortable and embarrassing situation. This story is just a bit of fun.

Say It With Mushrooms:

Independence: something we do not truly value until it is taken from us. The Seven have to escort three prisoners from Texas to Vetten prison. A simple enough job - or so it seemed.

Out of the mouths of babes.   A memory from Vin's past teaches Josiah something about God that he never knew.

Seven Men. One Team.    Judge Travis returns to Four Corners to discover some shocking news concerning the Seven. One of them has been killed!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.    Vin teaches Ezra a new word.     Another quick comic piece.

A man can choose his friends but not his family.    When the boys arrive late for a meeting with Vin on the trail, they discover a pool of blood but no Vin.

An amazing understanding     A simple accident leaves Chris unconscious and fighting for his life. His companions are prepared to do whatever is necessary to save the gunfighter... all that is, except one. For some reason, Vin refuses to do or say anything to assist his best friend in his fight for life.

Stubborn determination:     Guy Royal realizes he can not allow matters to lie after the events of "The Collector". Unfortunately, his attempts to make Four Corners' hired guns pay, fail dismally... that is until he takes some advice that leaves the Seven with six down and only one man standing between them and death.

Merry Christmas:

Finding the Christmas spirit:     Christmas comes to Four Corners. Each of the Seven reflect on past memories and just what Christmas means to them... all while seeking a group of bandits that have been terrorizing towns in their area.

Dedication: This story was supposed to be finished in time for Christmas 2001. Unfortunately, that wasn't to be. Our family faced the loss of someone very dear to us. This story is for my cousin Shaun who defied the odds, amazed his doctors and joined us for the new year. Happy New Year, Shauny!





Settling the Score:

Revenge, Justice and Retribution:     The boys have to run a few 'errands' for Judge Travis. The first involves running some bandits out of a town six days' ride from Four Corners. The other leads them stranded in another town and under attack... or are they? Chris finds himself contending with a mystery enemy, J.D.'s ghost hunt, Buck's flailing animal magnetism, a friend from Josiah's past, an unimpressed gambler and an ill tracker. Thank, God, for Nathan!

The joy of Christmas     J.D. is excited about the approach of Christmas Day and plans out a day of fun for his companions. Unfortunately, things don't quite turn out as he hopes. One of his friends goes missing on Christmas Eve and another makes a shock announcement that leaves the other regulators at a loss.

Just what can 'it' be?     Something is amiss in Four Corners but Ezra, Josiah and Nathan don't know what 'it' is. This is a short, comic story written for my friend Darla. It is a sequel to "Leave it to Me" and a prequel to "Happy Birthday, Cowboy."

We Take Care of Our Own

What happened to the boys once they were no longer needed in Four Corners?   This is the question I wanted to investigate.

Life in Four Corners has changed. The once lawless town is now peaceful and expanding... which is fine for some, but not for an ex-bounty hunter with a bounty on his own head.

This is my first story is 12 years! I know I am rusty, but hopefully you can still enjoy it.
